Apply For Co-op Housing

Who can qualify

  • The cooperatives are mixed-income communities. Most apartments have income restrictions but some do not; see the description of each co-op for more details.

  • All members are required to take part in managing the co-op. Because of this, cooperative spirit is one of the criteria to qualify as a co-op member.

  •  The Rose Street Artists’ Cooperative is designated for working artists; people who meet these criteria can qualify.

Application Process

  • We keep a waitlist of people who are interested in joining a co-op. The first step in applying is to attend an Orientation to Housing Cooperatives. Then people can get on the list by filling out a co-ops application.

  • Most openings are filled from the waitlist, so it is rare for us to advertise a vacancy.

  • Once an opening comes up it takes about two months to get approved by the co-op.
