Get Involved

The Champlain Housing Trust depends on the generosity of our community to fund our programs. Your gift can help lift a family out of homelessness into a secure home, provide homebuyer education and counseling to help people achieve their dream of purchasing their own home, or help prevent the loss of home through foreclosure. Your support can change lives.

Make A Gift

CHT is also a membership organization. You can join CHT with as little as a $1 membership dues payment – though we encourage you to be as generous as you can when you join. Members elect the Board of Directors and are kept apprised of CHT's activities through newsletters and action alerts. Members are also invited to special member events throughout the year, including a summer picnic and our Annual Meeting.

Cornerstone Community

The Cornerstone Community is made up of a group of donors who believe in our mission and want to provide us with longer term stability. Cornerstone Community members make three-to-five year pledges, allowing us to plan for a solid future of serving individuals and families in need of housing. If you are interested in this program, please call Chris Donnelly at (802) 861-7305.

Since CHT commits to providing permanently secure and affordable homes, we decided that we needed to build an endowment in order to support our operations and be responsible stewards of these community assets. In 2005, we established the Lois H. McClure Homes Forever Fund recognizing the leadership that Ms. McClure has displayed with her philanthropy. The Fund is administered by an experienced investment advisor and is an excellent option for those who wish to consider a planned, multi-year or strategic gift in support of our mission.
